This weekend I had the honor of capturing my cousin Matt's proposal to his girlfriend Christina. With the help of his friend Mike to set the scene at Robert Moses Beach he was able to make a very romantic impression complete with roses wine and snacks. Sounds like a good morning to me!

We met up with Matt two days prior to the special day to confirm the location and the plan. Mike arrived first to set up the picnic according to Matt's instructions.
Christina was led to believe that she and Matt were showing up for a fundraising walk sponsored by the company he works for, but the event was in fact scheduled for the following weekend.
I hid behind a storage shed while still trying to keep an eye out for the couple. This included my flailing about trying to avoid flying insects such as hornets, wasps, and horseflys. The things we do for love.
As soon as they neared I briskly walked out with the camera and got to work. I tried to be fast to get a complete sequence of the moment. She was so surprised, and of course she said yes!

Music, wine, strawberries and whipped cream made this proposal especially unique.

The wine and dessert Matt had prepared were easy props and added some creativity to the images.

If this proposal is any indication of their future as a couple I would say that they are headed for some happy days ahead.
